For the first time in nearly 30 years, London Transport (as UERL had by now become) created a new version of Beck’s map. It was not the youngsters' first experience of a royal carriage procession, with the trio waving to crowds from a landau during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations last year. Probably the biggest misstep in the history of the tube map came in 1960. It was first released in response to an Freedom of Information request.
